About

Madeira Beach Yoga offers three unique settings to indulge in your practice. Experience one, or explore them all, in the studio, on the patio or on the white sandy beach of Archibald Park.

Let us show you how fun and enjoyable yoga can be. Our instructors began to explore yoga for their own personal and varied reasons, which helped prepare them to make you feel even more welcome and successful in your practice. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, we will help you find your place on the mat.

Carolina Suazo

Also known as The Yogini Lawyer, Carolina's yoga practice began at age 8 after her discovery of the peaceful outdoor yoga series on PBS, Wai Lana Yoga. She is a life-long learner who advocates living life and practicing yoga with a "beginners mindset" to aid in the discovery and development of your utmost potential.

She is a 2012 graduate with a B.S. in Psychology with a minor degree in Law & Social Issues from the University of West Florida. She is currently a litigation attorney in Tampa, Florida.

Carolina received her Hatha Yoga 200-hour instructor certification in 2014 at her home studio, Yoga4Life, in Coral Springs, Florida.  She is experienced in facilitating a wide variety of meditation methods, Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and loves to offer free-flowing "yogi's choice" moments in every class. Believing that holding space for practitioners of all ages, abilities, and attitudes about yoga is a privilege, her instruction is based on helping students cultivate a sense of balance, flexibility, and strength within all aspects of themselves.

You can expect a different movement sequence every class, but it will always be accompanied with a reasonable dose of laughter and motivational messages that encourage vulnerability, bravery, and faith in oneself. Learn about yoga philosophy, how to tune up energy channels, and take-away skills that quickly awaken your inner yoga teacher.

Teresa Dunn

Teresa began her Yoga journey in 2001 when she was first introduced to the Bikram practice. She slowly started to incorporate yoga into her practice both on and off the mat. Seeing the negative effects of stress on her own body she has found the strength connection and healing power where all intersects body, mind and spirit. Teresa’s commitment, devotion and love for yoga culminated in her 200 Yoga certification in 2013. She knew a few months after teaching yoga; it’s her life’s passion and calling. This is where her next chapter began with co-founding Madeira Beach Yoga. She also volunteers her yoga practice to help injured Veterans with The Exhalted Warriors Foundation at Yogani Studio in Tampa, Florida.

Sherry Duquet

Sherry Duquet always felt too intimidated to walk into a Yoga studio and unroll a mat. She was curious and wanted to try, but felt afraid to do so. Sherry worried she wasn’t mindful or flexible enough to participate. She took classes right here with Madeira Beach Yoga and quickly learned that yoga is for everyone, including her.

She learned how welcoming Yoga can be, and the healing benefits it can provide.  It felt astonishing. This would now be her professional focus. Sherry was initially trained at Balance Yoga Therapy and became further certified in Yin Yoga and Aqua Yoga.  Seeking to introduce yoga to all ages, she gained expertise in YogaFit Seniors. Then, on the other end of the age range, created and taught a Children's Yoga curriculum.

Sherry's classes are inviting and inclusive for both experienced Yogis and those who are Yoga curious. She is obsessed with raising the self esteem of men, women and children. And she does this through teaching yoga and her recently published children's book about loving yourself.
