Yoga Nidra, meaning yogic sleep, is a guided meditation that takes you into a relaxed state similar to when falling asleep. Think of it as a full hour of “savasana”.

In Yoga Nidra we can restore our body, mind and senses while tapping into a deep sense of calm and relaxation. After this hour long class of guided meditation and light stretching you will “awaken” feeling refreshed and rested.

This class is a wonderful way to experience meditation, it is easy and fun, whether you have tried it before or are new to Yoga Nidra. There is no yoga or meditation experience necessary. Just come with an open heart and willingness to relax.
Nidra meditation is accessible for anyone ready for its healing benefits.

Why try Yoga Nidra?  Besides the evident relaxation benefits, it is believed that 1 hour of Nidra is equivalent to 3 hours of REM sleep.

Some of us here at Madeira Beach Yoga like to think of it as one hour of savasana, with an awesome twist.

Bring a mat and water to stay hydrated.  There are several mats on hand to borrow if you need one.
