People are often surprised to find out that I frequently use essential oils in my cooking. One of the most exciting things about using a human grade, edible essential oil like doTERRA is that you can consume them and it is yummy and good for you to do so! I like to think of it as essential eats.
We are all familiar with the benefits of applying and diffusing essential oils. The exciting news is that when we consume these oils we have the opportunity to amp up their benefits considerably.
The trick to using essential oils in your cooking is to not overthink and just go for it. If you love fresh basil then try Basil oil. If you really enjoy lemon cookies try adding Lemon oil to your recipe. Love the detoxifying benefits of Cilantro but hate cleaning it all the time? Add a drop of Cilantro oil to your bean dip or guacamole.
The oils are concentrated and provide robust flavor. It is clever to add the oils one drop at a time. Try it as you go and add more to taste. So, let your imagination run wild and you just may find that you love consuming your oils as much as you love diffusing or applying them.
I hope you enjoy these essential eats, a few marinade and dip recipes from the doTERRA site. Have questions about eating, ordering or using oils? Let us know. We love talking about essential oils and would love to help.
